Almacenes Éxito, a leading retailer in Colombia, has successfully deployed the Sensormatic Ultra Tag provided by ADT. The chain found the tag helped cut theft of bottled wines and spirits by more than 80 percent in a three-store, three-month trial. In addition, the Ultra Tag's compact size supports the retailer's merchandising efforts to increase sales.

According to Luis Castañeda, the chain's Loss Prevention Manager, "The idea is to standardize across the entire company using this type of protection." He adds that Sensormatic Ultra Tag has given Éxito the freedom to display products openly to customers, standardize product displays and reduce losses while increasing sales. Almacenes Éxito's employees have recognized the benefits of easy application and removal, enhanced productivity and greater security the Ultra Tag offers.

With a retail footprint of 273 stores in 45 cities throughout Colombia and annual revenue of USD $2.9B, Almacenes Éxito required a solution that would help increase sales while reducing shrink. Founded in 1949, Éxito has relied on ADT over the past 10 years for their security and loss prevention needs.

With easy application to in-store inventory, the Sensormatic Ultra Tag is helping to save Almacenes Éxito store personnel significant time in protecting stock. Its compact design also has eliminated the need for the chain to realign its shelving – a major disruption that larger tags could otherwise require. The tag's easy detachment also saves employee time at check-out while helping customers get through check-out faster.
