ISD Corporation, a leading provider of secure payment management software for merchants, recently announced the signing of their first client of their newly released POS Out of Scope solution.

"When this Mid Atlantic retailer, with 1200 retail outlets in 23 states, expressed a need to reduce the PCI scope and costs of their POS environment, we introduced them to our new ISD Isolated Payment Solution," said Kevin Potrzeba, VP of Sales, ISD Corporation. "The Isolated Payment Appliance (IPA) is a purpose built device designed specifically to manage card payment activity away from the merchant's POS environment in an effort to reduce PCI scope."

The IPA itself is a secure physical appliance with solid state design that communicates directly with the payment devices (PIN pads) on one end, and routes payment transactions to the ISD Payment Switch on the other end. All software inside the IPA is upgraded using an automated approach that ensures timely and consistent updates from the centralized ISD Isolated Payment Appliance Manager.

To ensure the merchant has total visibility of the integrity of the payment environment, the secured system log feeds all the necessary data to the merchant's existing security management application. Inside the IPA, ISD's industry leading PINComm and SAF/TOR applications exceed the latest PA-DSS standards with proven encryption management of the card sensitive data during authorizations and return to the POS an ISD Secure Token in place of the card number and expiration date.
