RadioShack Mexico (RSM) now has the ability to print legal invoices at the POS, which was tricky in the past. "Several tax-free purchases that require a tax-free invoice to be completed for the customer are made in our stores," states Ferrari. "These used to be completed manually via separate printers at the POS, but now we enter the tax-ID number and place a standardized form into the printer to generate one. We now need only one printer at the POS, and we use the free space at the POS for other things."

RSM opened 30 new stores since implementing the Retail Anywhere software suite, maintaining the same number of administrative employees at its corporate offices. It also has a project underway to enable credit card processing through the system instead of through bank boxes. RSM employees use the enterprise system to research product information, identifying differentiators in the price ranges for its products in different areas. Merchandisers now produce their own reports on items sold versus those left in inventory using Excel and Crystal Reports, which enables trend identification. RSM is also working on a project to prompt cashiers to upsell items. If a customer purchases a television, the cashier will be prompted to offer an antenna and speakers.
