First Data Corporation recently announced the introduction of the the First Data® FD-100 terminal, a proprietary point of sale terminal that offers enhanced functionality and expandability utilizing the Microsoft Windows CE 4.2 operating system. The FD-100 offers enhanced transaction speeds along with ease of use and implementation for small and medium-sized merchants.
As a follow-up to this announcement, Retail Solutions Online had a chance to catch up with Barry McCarthy, senior vice president of product and business development for for First Data Commercial Services. McCarthy manages all products including POS terminals, technology, partnerships (including Microsoft, IBM, HP and Epson), check products (TeleCheck), gift (ValueLink) and loyalty products, core credit and debit acquiring, DDA/private-label debit initiative, and TASQ.
