Case Study: Increase Task Execution Compliance
By Erin Harris, Integrated Solutions For Retailers magazine
Every retailer touts itself as unique, but Argos is a unique multichannel retailer in that its business is primarily catalog-based. In fact, its business is centered on two 1,800-page catalogs a year (autumn/winter and spring/summer). Argos also operates more than 700 brick-and-mortar locations in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland as well as an e-commerce platform. Most products are not displayed on store shelves but are instead stored in stockrooms. Customers browse through the catalog, select items to purchase, pay for them, and then have them delivered or collect them from an in-store collection desk. As Argos grew and added stores, the retailer found it increasingly challenging to execute its promotional store-level operational activities.
