TERiX Computer Service Becomes Founding Level Sponsor And Partner Of Retail Orphan Initiative

June 8, 2011

RetailROI, the Retail Orphan Initiative, recently announced that TERiX Computer Service has become a Founding Level Sponsor in RetailROI's corporate logo program. Through its sponsorship, TERiX will help advance RetailROI's efforts to channel funds, goods and resources to vulnerable children around the world.

According to UNICEF's latest report, there are over 163 million orphaned children worldwide, a group whose size is larger than the entire population of Russia. The Retail Orphan Initiative was created as a charitable foundation to help fund charities on the forefront of orphan care (i.e., providing food, shelter, education, medical treatment and clothing), adoption, and foster care.

"We are honored to have a company with the status of TERiX join RetailROI as a corporate sponsor," said Greg Buzek, President of IHL Group and Donor Trustee for the Retail Orphan Initiative. "With thousands of customers and a ‘who's who' list of clients in the Fortune 500, their work keeping data centers up and running for many of our retailer partners makes TERiX essential in extending the reach of RetailROI in the retail community. It is special to see that they are also a caring corporate citizen."

Servicing over a thousand major data centers in North America, the EU and Asia, including over a dozen U.S. Federal Government agencies, TERiX is a leading maintenance provider for hardware and operating systems from Oracle, Sun, IBM, HP, Cisco, EMC, STK and dozens of other OEMs. TERiX joins IBM, HP, Oracle, Intel, Microsoft, Epson, and many other great companies as sponsors of the Retail Orphan Initiative.

"We are grateful to be able to support RetailROI as a natural extension of our commitment to help," said Jim Olding, Managing Partner and Executive Vice President for TERiX. "We help customers, and we can give a portion of that revenue back to help communities in a deeper way as well. The needs are vast, and the work RetailROI does is transforming the lives of vulnerable children here in the U.S. and abroad. With its reach and vendor partnerships, the retail industry can make a huge difference, and we are thrilled to be a part of that."

The specific donation from TERiX is being used to provide food to a school of 550 orphaned and vulnerable children in Honduras. This is the same school where members of RetailROI recently installed 59 computers to help train high school students for positions in computer support, providing business and vocational skills to lift them out of poverty.
