VeriFone's Head Of North America Wins Silver Stevie® Award In 2012 Stevie Award For Women In Business

SAN JOSE, CA – VeriFone Systems, Inc. (NYSE: PAY) – Jennifer Miles, Executive Vice President of VeriFone North America has been named the winner of a Silver Stevie® Award in the Female Executive of the Year, Business Products (over 2,500 employee) category in the 9th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business are the world’s top honors for female entrepreneurs, executives, and the organizations they run.  All individuals and organizations worldwide are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small. The 2012 awards received entries from 17 nations and territories.

Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for “crowned,” the awards were presented to winners during a dinner at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.

More than 1,200 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Entrepreneur of the Year, Executive of the Year, Company of the Year, Mentor of the Year, Women Helping Women, and Communications Campaign of the Year, among others.

Miles oversees VeriFone’s North America business, which consists of VeriFone’s Financial, Mobility, Retail, Petro, Transit, Retail Banking, Hospitality, Security, Healthcare, and Government business units. She is responsible for 80 percent of the company’s revenue in North America and 25 percent globally. Only one of a handful of women in the global business of payments, Miles is driving VeriFone’s transformation from a traditional hardware business to a value-added systems and services business. Since joining VeriFone in 2001, Miles has played an integral role in driving the successful growth of VeriFone's solutions. 

Prior to joining VeriFone, Miles spent six years with Wachovia Bank serving in several roles including Sales and Product Management of Corporate Treasury and Cash Management solutions to Fortune 500 companies. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor degree in Business Administration.

Stevie Award winners were selected by more than 200 executives worldwide who participated in the judging process this year.
