Supply chain theft is a huge source of profit erosion for retailers and a difficult one to remedy. As merchandise travels thousands of miles, crosses many jurisdictions, and gets handled by hundreds of third parties en route, steps must be taken to ensure it arrives and that it arrives in a suitable condition for sale.
