As a retailer, you want a POS vendor that will support you and treat you as a partner, not just another account that is easily replaceable. Unfortunately, replaceable is how CBR Specialty Retail, Inc. was treated by its previous POS vendor when the vendor merged with another company. The vendor announced it would no longer support the POS application CBR was using, and the retailer had to upgrade to the new vendor, which would not offer any preferential economics to do so. Similarly, when CBR expressed concerns with PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards) compliance, the previous vendor was unresponsive. Based on this type of support, the retailer decided to find a new POS vendor.
