Why EDI Outsourcing Works

A sort of ideological warfare arises between two camps supporting their particular view of the "best way" to design EDI (electronic data interchange) solutions: in-house versus hosted. Technical personnel often depict the choice as one of maintaining control over the application or relinquishing the control to a third party. Others more interested in costs depict the in-house solution as the more expensive approach. Perhaps the first question is why this really matters and, more importantly, why bother to change an existing implementation?
