The horticultural supply company is using improved site search capabilities and customer visibility to propel stronger growth online.

Market position is always difficult to increase when you are a midsize business. You don’t have the budget to create the brand awareness of the major companies, but that brand awareness is probably more important than ever in a sluggish economy where consumers have more choice than ever. That is why A.M. Leonard, Inc. had to position itself at the forefront of customers’ minds in the most efficient manner possible.

A.M. Leonard is a 128-year-old company based in Piqua, Ohio. The company established its roots as a nursery/landscaping service that has since grown into a multi-million dollar horticultural tool and supply business operating out of a 100,000 square-foot distribution center. The company does the majority of its sales through distribution, catalog, phone, and online orders from its website, with customers either picking up their products at the showroom or having them delivered directly. A.M. Leonard currently employs over 100 people and continues to grow.
