Cabela's To Hire 225 For Cheektowaga, N.Y., Store

Applications being accepted now; doors scheduled to open this fall

Cabela’s Incorporated, the World’s Foremost Outfitter of hunting, fishing and outdoor gear, plans to hire approximately 225 full-time and part-time employees to staff its new Cheektowaga, N.Y., location scheduled to open this fall.

Interviews will take place May 12 to 16 at the Millennium Hotel located at 2040 Walden Avenue in Buffalo, N.Y. Most employees are expected to come from Cheektowaga and the surrounding area.

“We are looking for candidates capable of introducing Cabela’s legendary customer service to the company’s first New York location,” said Scott Armstrong, general manager of the new store. “Thousands of loyal Cabela’s customers live in Cheektowaga and the surrounding area and they deserve quality service from knowledgeable employees.”

The 88,000-square-foot store Cabela’s first New York location – will be located at the southeast corner of I-90 and Walden Avenue in a shopping center renamed “Cabela’s Crossing.” It is being built in Cabela’s next-generation layout, designed to surround customers in an outdoor-like experience with museum-quality wildlife displays. In addition to thousands of quality outdoor products, the store will include a large mountain replica, indoor archery range and archery tech room, Gun Library, Bargain Cave, Boat Shop, Deli and Fudge Shop.

Currently, Cabela’s operates 53 stores across North America with plans to open an additional 21 over the next two years.
