Chicago Public Schools Automates Supplier, Banking, And Healthcare EDI Processes With DiCentral's DiUnite And Oracle E-Business Suite

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is the third largest school district in the United States. CPS needed a solution to automate multiple processes across its enterprise and was searching for an integrated Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) solution. The solution had to be able to translate various data sets into and out of their enterprise resource planning (ERP) software while also being easy to use and quick to implement.

CPS needed solutions to automate its supplier business processes, banking, and Healthcare Eligibility Benefits Inquiries and Responses. CPS chose a solution from DiCentral, DIUnite, which provides automation of order-to-cash and procure-to-pay cycle since CPS acts as a buyer and supplier in many different transactions.

Healthcare Benefits at CPS were automated to allow Healthcare Eligibility Benefits Inquiries (EDI 270) and Responses (EDI 271) to be integrated into their Oracle E-Business Suite. This allows CPS to automatically verify coverage of employees and students under Medicaid, resulting in faster decision cycles and fewer errors and saving time and money.
