Preventing The Target Breach

Dell recently announced the introduction of new security systems that will provide businesses with complete thorough protection, ensuring all devices, including mobile, are protected

The number of cyberattacks and company breaches are increasing as rapidly as technology is developing. “In today’s evolving technology landscape, organizations face an unprecedented number and variety of security threats. Only a connected approach to security protects an organization’s entire IT environment without compromising access, collaboration, performance or cost,” says John McClurg, Chief Security Officer, Dell. While 83 percent of businesses are confident their security will detect a security breach immediately, when questioned about their latest breach in security, only 11 percent were able to identify the source immediately. Dell SecureWorks, an industry leader in data security services, made up of a highly intelligent research team, is dedicated to providing specialized tools that delve deep into the gray areas of the Internet, analyzing data and identifying threats, protecting businesses before cyberthreats are presented. Dell provides protection of data, in the cloud, within the network and especially the endpoint. In 2013 alone, Dell solutions have prevented 1.06 trillion attacks in 249 countries.

Dell SecureWorks recently added Advanced Endpoint Threat Detection managed services (AETD) — a complete bundle of Internet security services and features including, Managed Advanced Malware Protection and Targeted Threat Hunting service, altogether effective in combating cyberthreats from endpoint to endpoint.  By hunting for suspicious action across thousands of systems, AETD intelligence inspects and detects critical threats and endpoint compromise before an attack takes place.  In the situation of a threat, AETD reveals to customers how a vulnerable endpoint was compromised, allowing for full reconstruction and updated monitoring of the system for full protection—other than simply re-imaging devices, a costly solution executed by competitors.

Dell Secure Mobile Access solution, joined with Dell Mobile Management solution, provides protection to business networks while allowing connected employees to access company data and resources through their own mobile devices. The threat of malware and security breach increases when business and personal data are on one device—the solution is designed to correlate with personal applications while managing and securing the business aspect through mobile.  Features including, Dell SonicWALL E-Class Secure Remote Access and the Dell SonicWALL Mobile Connect 3.1 allows for IT to provide security to any mobile device incorporated into business use. According to the February study, only 53 percent of companies utilize secure BYOD mobile devices while the remaining 47 percent are exposed to threats.

Dell’s new Data Protection | Hardware Crypto Accelerator (HCA)—HCA provides Dell hardware with complete IT support to secure all endpoints, transforming notebooks and desktops into self-encrypting, tamper-resistant, fast working devices. HCA is secured with FIPS 140-level 3 certification- the “Fort Knox” of client protection, Dell stated.

Dell Data Protection | Hardware Crypto Accelerator is currently available worldwide. Dell SecureWorks Advanced Endpoint Threat Detection management solution is currently available in America, expanding to EMEA at end of Q2 2014, while Dell Secure Mobile Access will be available worldwide by summer.
