Devonshire Elementary School Students To Receive Free Bikes Courtesy Of The Loss Prevention Foundation Supported By The Lowe's LP And Safety Department

Many economically depressed children attending Devonshire Elementary School in Charlotte, NC, will have a much brighter holiday season this year thanks to the Loss Prevention Foundation supported by the Lowe’s Loss Prevention and Safety Department. The team is raising funds to provide free bikes for Devonshire students through the Adopt-A-Bike program of the non-profit Universal Surveillance Systems Foundation (USS Foundation). Adopt-A-Bike donates free bicycles to disadvantaged children at schools across the nation to encourage them to work hard, obey the rules, stay in school and break the cycle of poverty.

Gene Smith, president of the Loss Prevention Foundation, said, “Our nation needs programs like Adopt-A-Bike to encourage the next generation to build on their dreams. They are the future of this country, and too often these children are forgotten by society and just need a little motivation by someone showing they care. LPF looks forward to supporting this effort to bring a fantastic holiday to these deserving kids.”

“Lowe’s is proud to support such a wonderful program that gives back to the community,” said Claude Verville, Lowe’s Vice President of Loss Prevention, Safety and Hazmat. “ Lowe’s has a presence in so many communities throughout the country where we work to help those challenged by the current economy, and the USS Foundation’s Adopt-A-Bike is a great way to inspire these great kids with so much potential to work hard and not lose faith that a great future can be theirs.”

“The Loss Prevention Foundation and Lowe’s Loss Prevention and Safety Department are to be honored for their incredible generosity in helping Devonshire students through Adopt-A-Bike,” said Adel Sayegh, founder and CEO of the USS Foundation. “For many of these kids, this unfortunately will be the only Christmas gift under the tree this year. Growing up in poverty, I understand the circumstances and resonate with those struggling to make a better life. I’ve dedicated my life to giving back to others by instilling in them the self confidence and drive to work hard, stay in school and reach for their dreams.”

The USS Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping less fortunate children to have the tools, skills and knowledge to build a better life with a hope for a brighter tomorrow. Over the past three years, the USS Foundation has donated over 1,000 bikes to disadvantaged children in Alabama, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri and Ohio through Adopt-A-Bike.
