A significant part of my job involves surveying the landscape and understanding where the retail market is heading in both the short and long term.  You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to see that “mobile computing” is going to have a major impact and cause a significant shift in how retailers interact with and sell to customers.  In fact, this next wave is already upon us.  What I have noticed, however, is the fear and trepidation that occurs whenever the word mobile is uttered in the retail loss prevention space.  The reality is that the fear is mostly because of the unknown.
