Ceridian Corporation, a global provider of human capital management solutions, announces Guitar Center, the world’s largest retailer of musical instruments, has been honored with a SuperNova Award from Constellation Research in the category of Future of Work, for Dayforce Workforce Management. The SuperNova Awards recognize business leaders who carry out the implementation and adoption of disruptive technologies within their organizations in pursuit of corporate innovation and efficiency.

“When you see technology successfully applied to a business that serves the arts, it is truly a cool experience,” says Chris Salles, director of store labor, Guitar Center.  “Our intuitive Workforce Management solution, in partnership with Ceridian Dayforce, effectively gets our managers and music experts in front of our customers. Furthermore, with valuable insight into schedule optimization we’re able to make better staffing decisions and investments at the store level that benefit not only our customers, but also our bottom line. We’re pleased that our efforts to innovate have not gone unnoticed by the business, technology and HR community.”

“Guitar Center took an innovative approach to workforce scheduling by incorporating customer traffic patterns into Ceridian Dayforce’s optimization engine, to drive better staffing coverage and skills alignment with clients at the store level,” says Yvette Cameron, vice president and principal analyst, Constellation Research Inc.  “With a focus on highly intuitive user experiences and process transformation, Ceridian Dayforce has emerged as a transformative force among Software-as a-Service Human Capital Management vendors, so it is no surprise that a progressive company like Guitar Center, which offers benefits such as ‘gig leave’ for its employee musicians, would find such a strong partner in Ceridian.”

“We’re thrilled that Guitar Center is being recognized for incorporating Dayforce human capital management technology into their business strategy and day-to-day operations,” says David Ossip, president of Ceridian Dayforce.  “Empowering managers and store associates with real-time access to schedules, timesheets and HR information affords them with greater visibility on how to best leverage a very talented and passionate sales force, positively influence customer engagement and remain profitable.”

This year's SuperNova Awards received over 120 applications.  An all-star cast of judges including journalists, public relations professionals and industry insiders had the difficult task of reducing the applicant pool to 47 semifinalists. Then the public went online and voted for their favorite semifinalists. The winners of the 2012 SuperNova Awards were honored during a gala celebration at Connected Enterprise on November 9, 2012.
