Inmar Powering Tops Friendly Markets Digital Promotions Program

Inmar, a technology company that operates intelligent commerce networks, today announced that Tops Friendly Markets has enhanced their participation in the Inmar Promotion Network with the launch of their “TOPS BonusPlusSM Click-to-Card Coupons” program. This new initiative – designed, implemented and managed in cooperation with Tops by Inmar, and advanced web services provided by Webstop – will allow Tops BonusPlusSM / BonusCard account holders to load manufacturers’ coupons from the Tops Markets website directly to their active accounts.

With these paperless coupons loaded to their TOPS BonusPlus / BonusCard, shoppers can redeem them at checkout without having to present any paper coupons. Their purchases are matched against loaded coupons and the savings are automatically deducted from the bill.

Tops Markets is the latest retailer to begin employing Inmar’s digital promotion solution and with the addition of their 132 stores, the rapidly-expanding Inmar Promotion Network is now approaching 10,000 rooftops. The digital component of the network connects manufacturers and other promotional content providers with retailers and provides those retailers with point-of-sale redemption technology and transaction settlement.

“Tops Markets’ adoption of an Inmar-managed digital coupon program is a natural outgrowth of Inmar’s long-term efforts facilitating this progressive grocer’s traditional paper coupon program,” says David Mounts, CEO of Inmar. “Their commitment to effective marketing – as evidenced by the introduction of digital promotions into their stores – is typical of the superior customer engagement we have witnessed throughout our relationship.”

Tops Markets, which opened in 1962, considers its stores to have a "neighborhood grocer" feel - each store customized to fit the community it surrounds, with the product mix reflecting the cultural and ethnic variety of the upstate New York, central New York and northern Pennsylvania areas.

“We are always looking for ways to enhance our customers’ shopping experience,” said Frank Curci, Tops’ president and CEO.  “With this new technology, we’re able to increase our focus on providing shoppers with exceptional value and convenience.”
