Source: Island Pacific Systems Inc.Building A Technology Foundation
For almost two decades the foundation of Ethel Austin's information technology capabilities has been a specialised retail management solution developed by Island Pacific. The extensive system includes merchandising, warehousing, sales audit and finance modules, along with strong reporting tools. It allows the company to accurately cost orders placed anywhere in the world, manage debtors and creditors, and track the movement of goods through the business.
At the close of each day store sales data from a separate EPOS [electronic point of sale] system is automatically uploaded into the Island Pacific sales audit module. From there it provides management with up-to-date sales and inventory information which is used to inform decision making at many levels.
