Kronos And Hannaford Bros. To Present "The Retail Moneyball" At The NRF

NEW YORK, National Retail Federation’s Annual Convention and Expo, Jan. 13, 2014

What: Sabermetrics changed how baseball created winning teams, and now retailers have an opportunity to revolutionize their operations the same way.  Norm Daigle, director of retail services at Hannaford Bros., and Charlie DeWitt, vice president of business development at Kronos Incorporated, will discuss how to optimize operating margins and improve profitability by leveraging their workforce. The session will debunk the prevailing wisdom that labor is a big bucket of cost and compliance risk and how the “retail moneyball” can turn labor into competitive advantage.

When: 10:15-10:45 a.m. | Monday, Jan. 13 and Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014

Where: Big Ideas Room 4 – Level 3 Expo Hall | Jacob Javits Convention Center, New York

Why: Because the ultimate objective of all retailers is to improve operating margin. Retailers today must provide the level of service that consumers demand. No amount of guesswork in managing volumes of workforce data can help effectively manage employees throughout multiple departments and stores and create an optimal, consistent in-store experience. Hannaford leverages workforce management solutions from Kronos to analyze critical workforce data alongside foot traffic and POS data - store by store - to gain instant insights for informed, fact-based decisions. This maximizes sales conversion rates by aligning labor costs to sales volume.
