Studies continue to show that positive employee engagement is a key factor in promoting sales growth, increased customer satisfaction, and reduced turnover. So why is it not a bigger priority for many companies?
A Gallup poll from January 2015 reported that only 31.5% of workers in the United States felt engaged with their employers during the previous year, with engagement defined as “those who are involved in, enthusiastic about, and committed to their work and workplace.” Having less than a third of those surveyed registering a positive connection to the business they devote so much of their time to shows that there is substantial room for improvement in this area.
Being conscious of engagement opportunities can have an enormous impact on productivity and customer service, and even the best companies can take increased steps in order to more effectively promote a measurable human impact on their staff. This even applies to the implementation of the right workforce management (WFM) software, which can have considerable influence on how connected an associate feels to their job.
