June 2012 Integrated Solutions For Retailers

By Matt Pillar, editor in chief

The move to automated time-tracking software is steeped in returns, which are significantly compounded by integration and mobility.

With much of the retail world running automated time and attendance software, we asked Liz Moughan, director of the retail and hospitality practice group at Kronos, what now?

How prevalent is paper-, Excel-, or Access-based timekeeping in retail? What are the advantages of moving to time-tracking software?

Moughan: Due to the complexity of pay rules and labor regulations today, most retailers have moved to an automated timetracking solution. Adoption of automated time and attendance is almost universal among today’s largest retailers. Retailers that fall into the SMB space are following suit because they appreciate the benefits of being able to standardize, streamline, and simplify time and attendance and payroll.
