New Technology Set To Tackle Retail's Rising Employee Theft

To support existing UK retail crime prevention measures, cash loss prevention experts Tellermate, a global manufacturer and supplier of electronic cash counting systems is launching its new range of cash counting products in September.

With a 30 year company history, Tellermate's systems are now used by customers in more than 30 different countries by 250,000 users, who between them count more than £1 bn every day in dozens of currencies.

According to nearly 33% of UK retailers the increase in thefts by dishonest staff is due to the effects of the recession, as employees struggle to make ends meet and see ‘opportunities' at work to steal cash or stock.
