Oracle Introduces Largest-Ever New Retail Release, Features Customer Results And New Global Initiatives At NRF 14

Largest-Ever Release of Oracle Retail Solutions Improves the Customer Experience with New End-to-End Functionality and More Flexible Integration

At NRF this week, Oracleannounced recent results with several retailers and unveiled programs with several new customers worldwide.  Among them: 

  • UK luxury goods retailer Molton Brown launched a series of mobile commerce sites using Oracle Commerce, as part of an initiative to deliver an engaging, seamless and personalized shopping experience.
  • In the US, Stage Stores also announced results of its Oracle Commerce implementation, with a fast implementation that helped to support dramatic growth in holiday traffic and sales.  “Oracle Commerce gives us the ability to bring more exciting products and promotional offers to our customers,” said Steven Hunter, executive vice president and CIO, Stage Stores, Inc. “I’ve been involved in the deployment of several ecommerce platforms. The Oracle Commerce implementation was less than six months in core project time. This was a quick implementation and one of the smoothest.”
  • In China, apparel and accessories brand Erke said they have deployed Oracle Retail merchandising and planning solutions to achieve a more consistent, flexible approach to financial planning and targeting assortments.
  • Brazilian fashion retailer Marisa has selected the new Oracle Retail Release 14 planning and optimization solutions to support more than 410 stores across all regions of Brazil. Andre Brandalise, Divisional Manager, Marisa, said in a press statement, “Proven retail solutions are vital to our roadmap and vision to build and refine Marisa’s operations going forward.”
  • Major DIY retailer in France, Leroy Merlin, selected Oracle Commerce to deliver more personalized and interactive content, such as ‘how to’ guides and complimentary items.
  • Saudi Arabia’s largest hypermarket, Azizia Panda United, has selected an integrated suite of Oracle Retail merchandising, planning, supply chain, analytics and stores solutions to support growth across its 102 supermarkets and 47 hypermarkets.
  • Thai cash and carry operator Siam Makro will deploy Oracle Retail merchandising, planning, stores, business intelligence and supply chain solutions to support a variety of store formats and expand into new regions. Saowaluck Thithapant, Chief Financial Officer, Siam Makro Public Co., said, “We wanted an internationally experienced partner with a proven retail track record in delivering transformational retail solutions, so Oracle is the right choice for us.”

Oracle also introduced its largest-ever new software release at the NRF conference and provided demonstrationstations showcasing of each of the applications.  The new Oracle Retail Release 14 includes new features across the entire suite of retail solutions, all with a focus on enabling retailers to connect store, online and mobile touchpoints, target assortments, improve efficiency from inventory and reduce total cost of ownership.

“In the global retail industry we have seen a shift of capital from building and refurbishing stores to digital commerce and creating new and differentiated customer interactions. Retailers are focused on enabling the whole retail enterprise to deliver commerce anywhere,” said Mike Webster, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Oracle Retail.

“Oracle Retail version 14 is our largest release in terms of functionality and manpower invested in development.  This release aligns with the industry investments, has a sharp focus on quality and lowers the total cost of ownership for retailers.  It further differentiates Oracle when the retailer is choosing a point solution and in situations where the retailer is transforming multiple business operations to enable a more effective customer experience,” said Webster.
