Price Chopper Combats ORC With IP Video
April 2013 Integrated Solutions For Retailers
By Bob Johns, associate editor
With organized retail crime (ORC) and retail theft in general on the rise, this grocer/convenience retailer upgraded its existing LP video system to enable better detection and prevention.
Founded in 1932, Price Chopper is a family- and employee-owned retailer specializing in grocery, pharmacy, and convenience stores. They operate roughly 130 Price Chopper locations in the Northeast as well as Mini Chopper service/convenience stores. Loss prevention video has been a part of the business for years, but the existing systems are archaic by today’s standards.

Mike Gulli, Price Chopper’s manager of LP/security administration, and the loss prevention team went to work to find a solution.
