Price Chopper, a supermarket chain based in Schenectady, New York, announced in November that they would no longer be working with Zavers on their digital loyalty and coupon program, AdvantEdge. Zavers was run by Google, and managed coupon programs at over a dozen supermarket chains until June 2014. The company began working with the supermarkets to help prepare them for the transition, and as of December 1, Inmar took over the program.  Price Chopper began adding new features based on consumer feedback. Inmar is a company that operates intelligent commerce networks, and has revamped the loyalty and coupon program at Price Chopper significantly.

Previously, shoppers could only digitally load up to 99 coupons on their AdvantEdge card at a time, but the new program through Inmar doesn't have a limit. Customers now have access to over 150 digital coupons and can also use the Price Chopper website to search for products and will see corresponding offers for favorite products. The company added the new coupon search function in response to consumer requests. The store's mobile apps on the Apple iTunes and Google Play store were also updated with the new coupon program.

“The greater availability of more attractive offers, the improved functionality of our coupon portal and the increased efficiency of our digital coupon program are all going to advance Price Chopper’s efforts to deliver an outstanding and distinctively different shopping experience to our customers,” says Heidi Reale, Director of Shopper and Digital Marketing.

A press release from Inmar announced the transition to the new program interface took less than 60 days, with “no down time” for shoppers.  “We are very excited about the enhancements being made to our e-Coupons program through our collaboration with Inmar,” says Reale.

The changes to the program come at a time when Price Chopper is seeking to rebrand itself. Its parent company, The Golub Corporation, announced in November that it would be renaming all Price Chopper stores to Market 32. The name change would roll out to all of the chain's 135 stores across six states. The digital coupon and loyalty program will still be in use by Market 32. The news regarding the name change to Market 32 was shared along with a rendering of a new store design on the official Price Chopper Facebook page.
