ReD, a leading provider of fraud prevention and payment services, recently announced that ReD Director of Global Risk Management Erika Gallo has been appointed to the Merchant Risk Council’s (MRC) Americas Advisory Board for a two-year term. Supporting electronic commerce and multi-channel merchants, Gallo will be one of 16 industry experts contributing time and expertise to guiding programs and member activities for the MRC’s Americas region.

“New payment, authentication, verification, delivery and consumer conversion methodologies are constantly being introduced, which has resulted in many challenges for electronic commerce merchants,” commented Erika Gallo. “The MRC maintains a professional, informative, and objective position to help merchants stay at the forefront of ecommerce payments and fraud, protecting both merchants’ ROI and consumers, giving them the ability to make better-informed business decisions through education and collaboration. I have worked with merchants around the world and have found that collaborating about best practices and methodologies creates a more efficient, compliant, safe, and profitable environment for them. I embrace the MRC’s goal of promoting information sharing, while adhering to confidential policies and terms.”

The Merchant Risk Council brings together the largest e-Commerce and epayments merchants with solution providers, card schemes, issuers, payment processors and other e-Commerce companies to provide networking, education, benchmarking and advocacy opportunities with a focus on e-Commerce payments, fraud and risk. Today, the association has more than 1,300 members, representing over 400 member companies across the globe.

“We are excited to welcome Erika to the AAB,” said MRC’s CEO Joe O’Konek. “Her global experience and ecommerce knowledge will be invaluable as we continue to expand our reach and positive influence on behalf of our members.”

ReD was one of the MRC’s founding member companies and the company is an active supporter of the association, sharing its fraud prevention expertise at US and European conferences and through regular webinars.
