Shelfbucks Named Top 10 Austin Startup To Watch At SXSW By Capital Factory's Joshua Baer

Noted writer for Austinpreneur and executive director of Capital Factory adds beacon-based retail technology startup Shelfbucks to his annual list of companies to watch at the Austin tech festival  

Shelfbucks Inc., the leading iBeacon promotion platform for retail stores, has been named a Top 10 Austin Startup to watch at the annual SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. The list was compiled by Joshua Baer, executive director of Capital Factory, a 50,000 square ft. workplace for startups and entrepreneurs located in middle of downtown Austin. Shelfbucks joins Austin-based startups Banter, Cratejoy, Mahana, Pingboard, ROIKOI, Sparefoot, Umbel, WP Engine, and YouearnedIt on the this year’s list.

Shelfbucks is one of the first in-store beacon promotion platforms that allow shoppers to interact with products on retail shelves from their smartphone via iBeacon, BLE and NFC Beacons. Shelfbucks will host a Twitter competition giving away free copies of Robert Scoble’s book ‘Age of Context’ to the Twitter commenters that receive the highest number of re-tweets and favorites. Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Shelfbucks will be giving a Store of the Future Tour, where customers will have an opportunity to try Shelfbucks live at Austin’s very own Tarrytown Pharmacy before giving the keynote address at the RetailLoco event at Capital Factory later that evening. Shelfbucks is also a finalist for the prestigious SXSW Interactive Accelerator competition in the Enterprise and Big Data category.
