Senior members of the Walmart LP team have embraced the company’s aggressive sustainability goals, demonstrating that smarter LP sourcing and design can have a measurable impact.
With 10,020 retail units operating under 60 different banners in 28 countries and more than 2.2 million worldwide associates, no retailer has a footprint like Walmart’s. In 2005, the company rolled out an aggressive sustainability initiative with three overarching goals:
- To be supplied 100% by renewable energy
- To create zero waste
- To sell products that sustain people and the environment
