About Us
What is RSPA?
RSPA stands for Retail Solutions Providers Association. We are the only association dedicated to the retail technology industry. Our members include resellers, distributors, hardware manufacturers, software developers, consultants and service providers who bring retail technology solutions to the marketplace. We began 60 years ago as the ICRDA (Independent Cash Register Dealers Association) and later merged with the SDA (Systems Dealer Association), creating a new association known as RSPA. Since then, RSPA has become an all-inclusive industry association for retail technology.

RSPA Members agree networking at RSPA events is a coveted benefit…building relationships while saving on industry resources. RetailNOW, RSPA's Annual Summer Convention and Expo, is our largest event of the year as it's ‘where the industry meets'. Retail Technology professionals come together once a year at RetailNOW to display new products to hundreds of dealers and resellers. RetailNOW also provides dozens of education sessions and first-class networking events for all attendees, making this a "must-attend" event for anyone in the retail technology industry.
RSPA's Annual Thought Leadership Summit, INSPIRE, is held every winter in a tropical location. Inspire offers executive level education, networking events, and exciting excursion opportunities with fellow industry leaders.
One of RSPA's main goals is to be the voice of the industry. In 2007, RSPA began Project:PCI to spread awareness about Payment Card Industry Security Compliance. We traveled the country and interviewed the major players in the PCI issue to get to the bottom of what must be done to fix this growing problem. The result? ‘Are You at Risk', a 12 minute DVD defining industry jargon to help business owners determine if their point-of-sale system is at risk of a security breach. This is just one of many things RSPA is doing to educate, engage, and empower our industry.
