Today's consumers are constantly on the go. Faced with a seemingly endless list of daily commitments to work, family and household responsibilities, many Americans find themselves pressured by everyday errands and tasks. With less time to squeeze in activities such as eating out, shopping, traveling or even seeing the doctor, waiting in line is a routine many time-starved consumers would rather do without. Even consumers who don't consider themselves time-starved would prefer to spend their time doing more enjoyable or productive activities than standing in line!

A survey commissioned by NCR Corporation took a deeper look into what frustrates consumers the most when they wait for service. Seeking a glimpse into the impact of long queues and extended waits, the survey asked consumers about the environments and situations that frustrate them when they wait for service.

The survey also took a closer look at the amount of time consumers perceive they waste when waiting for service and their openness to alternatives that could help reduce wasted time.
