2015 NFL Draft Impacts Chicago Retail
Chicago’s Grant Park morphed into Draft Town, in celebration of the 2015 NFL Draft, which ran from Thursday, April 30 through Saturday, May 2. It was a historic occurrence, as this was the draft’s first time outside of New York City in 50 years. The celebration spanned over 900,000 square feet and saw over 100,000 fans flood the arena (Chicago Sun-Times).

Kiosks and Digital Signage include in-store and exterior displays of any scale that utilize unique features, graphics, tablets, displays, and other technology to attract customers and/or allow them to interact with products. These displays can include point-of-purchase displays, retail display kiosks, and interactive kiosks.
Merchandise management software helps retailers manage merchandising, inventory control, sales promotion, and other topics. Merchandise management solutions allow you to analyze, order, price, and distribute your inventory throughout your channels, often with real-time data. Many merchandise management solutions integrate with ERP systems and other common software.
POS Peripherals and POS Solutions encompass the large range of POS hardware and software that is available to retailers. POS peripherals include cash registers, cash drawers, receipt printers, mobile printers, tablets, handhelds, rugged devices, and more. POS solutions encompass the different types of POS software that is available including on-premise, software-as-a-service, and hybrid services.
Workforce Management and Task Management software provide retailers with a way to electronically approve, execute, and verify tasks, track employee time, schedule and monitor shifts, predict shift requirements, and much more.

Fast Receipt Printer Demo By CognitiveTPG At NRF 2015
One of the products at the 2015 NRF show that caught my eye – though my eyes couldn’t quite catch up to it – was the A799II thermal receipt printer by CognitiveTPG. Promoted as the “fastest receipt printer,” the A799 shows in this video it can print the over 4,500-word United States Constitution in about 9 seconds. Cognitive executives told me the demonstration was inspired by French artist/engineer Thibault Brevet who presented at the SXSW Conference in 2014.
