Walgreens has integrated Coupons.com analytic and digital omni-channel platform, Retailer iQ, into the company’s POS systems, delivering a personalized experience for customers with paperless coupons, special loyalty rewards, and promotions.

Introduced early this year, Retailer iQ technology is now operating in more than 8,000 Walgreens. By using real-time data and analytics based on customer purchase trends, the integrated platform manages the issuance of personalized digital coupons, digital e-receipts, and savings to Balance Rewards Members. The cohesive omni-channel platform is designed to personally engage customers with the retailer, increasing in-store shopping experiences and enhancing shopping patterns.

Customers must download the Walgreens App to receive their offers digitally. At checkout, customers can choose to receive their receipts through text or email. The paperless receipt features coupons for items based on interest according to purchases. The savings can be added directly into their account or onto their Balance Rewards card, which can be swiped to redeem offers in-store. Customers can digitally create shopping lists, combining items that are recommended through the platform. The app also features a dashboard, allowing customers to view sales on store items and track coupons they have left to use.

Walgreens recently simplified their featured mobile app, allowing for customers to connect to store locations within their area, receiving coupons that apply to their specific store of purchasing. Walgreens began issuing out mobilized coupons in February. The updated version allows for customers to connect directly to their local store—skipping steps of sifting through inapplicable deals that may not apply to the store due to inventory or relate to their personal needs. “There’s a continuous effort to modify or enhance our digital offerings to provide a relevant and seamless experience for our shoppers whenever and wherever they choose to engage with Walgreens,” said Mai Lee Ua, senior manager of public relations at Walgreens, Deerfield. Now, Retailer iQ intelligence is connecting Walgreens to customers with help of analytics—providing an even better shopping experience through mobile, email and in-store.

Through the redesigned app, Balance Reward Members are capable of viewing what products are in-stock at their Walgreens store, filling prescriptions, scheduling health appointments and conveniently printing pictures to Walgreens directly from their IPhones.

Walgreens recently announced the company has been awarded with the title as Best Integrated Mobile Experience for its paperless coupons by the 18th Annual Webby Awards.  "Walgreens Paperless Coupons offering has set the standard for innovation and creativity on the Internet," says David-Michel Davies, executive director of The Webby Awards. "This award is a testament to the skill, ingenuity, and vision of its creators."
